Applications Engineer - Agriculture / Machine Control - #12007

Location: Calgary, AB

The customer service team provides front line customer support and field services to NovAtel's worldwide customer base. The Application Engineer works closely with engineering to ensure escalated issues are resolved in a timely manner while continuing to be the customer liaison and maintaining the customer interface. Field on-site Applications Services may include proof of concept testing and applications development, Customer Training, Product Demonstrations, and other types of pre and post sales activites. The team also provides numerous services internally to Product Management, Project Management and Marketing to help ensure the cohesive and comprehensive delivery of products and materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front line product and application support on NovAtel Hardware, Software, and related GNSS topics to internal and external customers
  • Provide customer facing field applications support in both a pre and post sales environment including product testing, demonstrations, proof of concept, problem troubleshooting, applications development, etc.
  • Liaise with other departments regarding technical matters
  • Formulate and implement procedures and plans for resolving problems
  • Perform software testing, verification, bug reports, and field trial coordination
  • Review technical documentation materials and manuals
  • Generate application notes for frequently asked questions and knowledge base

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Degree in Geomatics or Electrical Engineering
  • KNowledge and experience in the application of GNSS technology in the Agriculture industry
  • General knowledge of Agriculture machinery, implements, and practices
  • Self-motivated team player with proven problem solving skills
  • Outgoing and energetic with exceptional people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Fluent secondary language skills in Portuguese or Spanish would be a definite asset
  • Experience in working directly with customers, preferably in the delivery of support or services
  • Background includes experience in GNSS or INS systems installation and/or troubleshooting
