Geomatics Engineer - #11024

Location: Calgary, AB

Responsibilities:

  • You will work individually and in small teams to develop and enhance NovAtel’s industry-leading positioning algorithms for performance enhancements, new features and special applications.
  • An integral part of this will include research into innovative solutions for both general applications and specific markets.
  • Responsibilities will consist of requirements definition, design, coding and testing for production releases, and engineering support thereafter.
  • You will also develop and use tools to analyze test results and work closely with marketing, customer support, and the product verification team.

Qualifications:

  • You have a graduate degree in Geomatics Engineering or a related technical field with at least 3 years industry experience developing precise positioning algorithms. This will include advanced knowledge in one or more of the following:
  • Ambiguity resolution and RTK
  • Precise point positioning
  • Augmentation of GNSS data with other sensors
  • Demonstrated experience using OOD and implementation in software using C++.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and be able to communicate ideas and solutions to others.
  • An understanding of real time operating systems and embedded firmware development is an asset.
  • You will be able to work effectively and smoothly with other developers, customer service, marketing and test personnel.
